Oneida County Fair

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club will be participating in the Oneida County Fair Parade in Boonville, NY on Monday evening, July 26.  Look for us with a piece of our equipment and something snowmobile related.  The theme of the Fair this year is "Mardi Gras".  Come watch the parade - always a nice one - and give us your support.

Pink Ribbon Riders Snow Run

Our member Denell Douglas who joined in the Pink Ribbon Riders Snow Run in Inlet, NY won the Best Decorated Sled Award.  Shown here is Denell (on the right) with her Sister Dawn Abel, who is the reason Denell became involved in the  Pink Ribbon Riders.  In October 2008, Dawn was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She is now in remission from breast cancer, mastectomy, chemo treatments and all the harsh realities that go with it.  Another 'positive' in the snowmobiling world.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has issued a statement to the New York State Snowmobile Association that "official" GPS figures of trail mileage  by all Clubs will be mandatory by 2011 in order to receive state trail funding.

State "RAID" on Snowmobile Trail Fund

Your help is needed! A Call for Action from NYSSA President Mike Fischer:

Many of you are already painfully aware that the Governor proposes to sweep $1 million from the trail fund this current fiscal year! This unprecedented sweep, coming less than two years after a previous attempt to take $1 million during the 2008-2009 budget process, must be rejected by the Legislature. It is another attempt to raid the Snowmobile Trail Fund.

Show where your Snowmobiling Dollars are spent. To promote recognition of the importance and impact of our sport on New York's economy, Anyone who snowmobiles any time between February 12 and 21, 2010 is asked to start now -- gather $2 bills (you'll probably have to ask specifically for them at your bank). Use those $2 bills to pay for every snowmobile-related transaction you make during President's week.
